2022 is a big year for RHM. We’re celebrating our 30th year in business and wanted to do something special to mark the occasion.
We’ve always strived to make a difference in our home of Gloucester. We believe that supporting great local causes is part of being a responsible business. One of these causes that we’ve been supporting for many years is the Pied Piper Appeal.
The Pied Piper Appeal are also celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2022, so we knew this opportunity couldn’t be passed up. RHM and Pied Piper have a Chair in common, Roger Head OBE. It seemed natural then that when Pied Piper were looking for businesses to take on a fundraising appeal for their 30th anniversary, the RHM team were more than happy to take up the challenge.
We’ve decided to challenge ourselves to raise a minimum of £3,500 by the 31st of October 2022.
The bulk of our fundraising will be carried out by our mission to walk/run 900 miles as a team. This is 30 miles for 30 years of both Pied Piper and RHM. We’ll be running and walking individually to help work up to this goal, but collectively we will be doing a sponsored 10.9 mile walk on June 15th.
We will announce more fundraising events in the coming weeks.
The Pied Piper Appeal do fantastic work in Gloucestershire. They make a meaningful difference supporting sick and disabled children across the county. They do this by funding local hospital care, specialist schools and mental health facilities. One of the best services they do is to send children with life-limiting illnesses and their families on holidays where they can make lasting memories.
Alongside RHM, over 30 other fantastic local businesses are also taking part in fundraising for Pied Piper. This includes Cheltenham College and Punchline Gloucester, as well as local branches of John Lewis, The Ivy and Starbucks.
We asked RHM Managing Director, Nick Thomas about why we’ve decided to undertake this challenge in support of the Pied Piper Appeal:
“RHM have a long-standing link to the Pied Piper Appeal children’s charity. RHM’s co-owner Roger Head OBE is also the Chair of Trustees for the Pied Piper.
RHM provide subsidised telecom service for the charity’s two shops and office. We also share the fact we both started life back in 1992 and are therefore entering our 30th anniversary.
So, when the charity announced they were looking to sign up 30 local companies to commit to raise a minimum of £3,500 during 2022 it was a no-brainer.”
We’ve set up a JustGiving Page to track our progress towards our £3,500 goal. We’d hugely appreciate any donations made towards this brilliant cause.
