Network

If you are moving premises, opening a new office or upgrading your existing office then chances are you will need to review your data network, often to referred to as ‘Local Area Network’ (LAN).

Why speak to us?

RHM can provide you with a complete solution from supplying your internet connection and telephone system to managing your connectivity and total infrastructure – one supplier, one support partner, one point of contact.

Our Support Service

When we install a router, firewall, data switch or wifi access point we will always, where practical, ensure our technical department has remote access to these devices.

What’s more we take this a step further and overlay monitoring software that continuously checks the devices. If a pre-determined alarm threshold is breached RHM technical will be notified automatically.

This means RHM can support your business devices in a proactive manner. If something does go wrong we will know about it and will have the capability to start triaging that issue immediately without having to wait to get an engineer to site.

Great Value

RHM offers you value for money in this arena. We have partnered with manufacturers who offer reliable equipment at an affordable price. Unlike some of our IT competitors you won’t need to take out a small loan to afford our on-site services.

Cabling

When moving premises, opening a new office or upgrading a site the first component you need to get in place is your cabling.

Category 5 cable, commonly referred to as cat 5, is a twisted pair cable for carrying signals. This type of cable is used in structured cabling for computer networks such as Ethernet. The cable standard provides performance of up to 100 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet). Cat 5 is also used to increasingly carry other signals such as telephony and video.

RHM can help you with your cabling projects. We can pre-survey your premises to both assist with the planning and ensure an accurate quotation. We can also terminate all of your cabling in a suitable communications cabinet.

Hardware

Routers

If RHM is providing your business offices or homeworkers with internet connection we will always give you the option to take an RHM managed router as part of the solution. This will allow us remote access to your router, giving you peace of mind that we can fully monitor and support your system.

Firewalls

A Firewall will often sit behind the router at the edge of your Network and between the router and your data switches.

Network firewalls are frequently used to prevent unauthorised Internet users from accessing private networks, especially intranets. All messages entering or leaving the intranet pass through the firewall, which examines each message and blocks those that do not meet specified security criteria

Some businesses with in house IT management prefer to provide this themselves, some leave this to their IT support companies, however there is an option to streamline your supply chain and source these devices and services from RHM.

Switches

A network switch groups data into suitably sized blocks and forwards it to appointed telephones, computers and devices which it connects to within your network. This helps with efficiency and speed of use.

RHM provides data switches as part of your IP Telephony solution.  This gives new IP telephones access, out of the business, through the Internet connection. The same switches would also power your IP telephones so there’s no need to buy and fit power supplies to every single handset individually.

As part of a telephony refresh RHM could offer you an integrated solution that gives you one set of switches to manage both your PC’s and your Telephone handsets over a single network. By doing this we can set up different classes of service on the switches to prioritise certain traffic such as voice and business critical data.

WiFi Services

Public WiFi

Public WiFi is where your business allows customers access to WiFi via your wired or wireless network.

Every Public Wifi implementation we complete complies with the Digital Economy Act of 2010.This means that if you extend public access to the internet through your wired or wireless networks you must make the user register. You are also responsible for keeping access records for 12 months and making any data available to the authorities.

We supply landing pages as standard and the landing page authentication retains the registration information and user MAC address. It also has the ability to track, monitor and report down to individual user level. Data is stored for the minimum period of 12 months as per the Act.

RHM’s solution for Public WiFi is an end to end managed service. Particularly where standalone ADSL is to be used. We provide, manage and support every component of the solution.

Private WiFi

Private WiFi is when your business wants to offer staff and guests secure and managed WiFi whilst on your premises.

RHM can provide a private WiFi coverage solution ranging from a couple of access points to a sophisticated, managed solution with 10’s of access points across your premises.

For larger implementations we survey your site using tools to analyse areas that may be potential sources of interference that might impact on the efficiency of your network.

Once implemented, we monitor all components, down to and including the Access Points, ensuring we are proactively notified if a device is failing.
